The tanks, like other materials, will be prepared at the Santa Bárbara Sistemas plant in Alcalá de Guadaira in Seville before shipping.
Spain has approved the supply of 19 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. It was reported by La Vanguardia.
The delivery will be carried out in two batches: ten battle tanks at the end of June and nine more in September.
According to Infodefense, 20 tanks are being discussed.
It was noted that the tanks will be prepared at the Santa Barbara Sistema plant in Alcala de Guadaira in Seville before shipping.
According to Spanish Trade Minister Xianu Mendes, the funds transferred to Ukraine are a necessary, priority and important weapon for the fight against Russia.
“There is no doubt that Ukraine uses them to protect its national security,” Mendez said.
Let’s recall that in July last year, Spain sent another batch of humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine, including four Leopard 2A4 tanks.
It was also reported that the first two of the 14 Leopard 2 tanks purchased by the Netherlands and Denmark for Ukraine have undergone major overhauls at the facilities of the German defense concern Rheinmetall and are ready for shipment.
