Canada will also allocate more than 40 million Canadian dollars to the Czech Republic’s initiative to purchase large-caliber ammunition for Ukraine.
Canada, as part of new military aid, will transfer a batch of night vision devices to Ukraine. This is what Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said, according to the Canadian Ministry of Defense.
This assistance, valued at approximately C$7.5 million, will come from the Canadian company Twenty20 Insight Inc.
Blair also announced that Canada would allocate more than 40 million Canadian dollars to the Czech Republic’s initiative to buy large-caliber ammunition for Ukraine.
This commitment follows the signing last month of a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation between Canada and the Czech Republic, which established a framework for defense cooperation between the countries, particularly regarding support for Ukraine.
Blair also confirmed that Canada has officially joined the drone coalition led by Latvia and the UK.
“Among other things, this coalition brings together members working to find ways to expand drone production with the common goal of delivering one million drones to Ukraine,” the statement said.
Canada’s initial contribution includes more than 800 drones from Teledyne. The first batch is expected to arrive in Ukraine this spring.
We remind you that Canada has previously said it would consider sending military instructors to Ukraine.
