Protesters blocked the checkpoint in Schwetz near Frankfurt an der Oder for four days. German authorities are expecting heavy traffic congestion.

Polish farmers on Sunday, March 17, began a four-day blockade at the checkpoint in Šwiecko on the Polish-German border, reports Deutschce Welle.

Farmers will block all traffic lanes in both directions. As a result, Polish and German authorities expect severe traffic jams.

According to DW, the border crossing is located on the autobahn connecting Berlin and Warsaw. About 17 thousand trucks move between Germany and Poland every day.

It was also reported that on March 15, Polish farmers also blocked the Hizne checkpoint on the Slovakian border. According to farmers, agricultural products from Ukraine and Russia enter Poland along these roads.
