In the Sumy region, border guards, along with Defense Forces soldiers, stopped three Russian DRGs that penetrated deep into our country. The State Border Service of Ukraine reported this on Sunday, March 17.
“In the first case, the border guards discovered some people of the enemy DRG moving from the territory of the aggressor country. They opened fire on the saboteurs, and a shootout ensued. In the other two cases, the guards on the border, together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, discovered the enemy DRG in advance and opened fire to kill,” it said in the message.
To strengthen the directions of the enemy’s DRG activities, the reserves of the State Border Service units, the National Guard and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were deployed, and artillery and mortar crews were involved.
In all three cases, the enemy’s plans failed. The enemy retreated.
A day before it became known that the Defense Forces had suspended two attempts to penetrate the DRGs of Russia. They were neutralized in the areas of Staraya Guta and Bruski settlements.
