The woman died on March 14 due to violence. She was previously considered missing, according to Mannheim Police Headquarters.
The mother of the murdered woman (51-year-old Marina Stetsenko, who is wanted by the police because she is considered a witness to the crime) and her newborn daughter, who is only 5 weeks old, are missing. According to German media reports, the name of the murdered Ukrainian woman is Margarita Razas.
The area around the crime scene on the banks of the Rhine was searched with the help of sniffer dogs to find possible means of crime and clues. 60 law enforcement officers and service dogs were involved in the case.
The baby of a 27-year-old refugee from Ukraine, who was killed the day before in Germany, was found alive. Two men are suspected of murder. They are still looking for the 51-year-old mother of the murdered woman and are calling on eyewitnesses for help.
As Mannheim Police Headquarters reported on Friday, March 15, the child was the father of two men aged 43 and 44 years.
They were both detained on the evening of March 13.
There is a strong suspicion that it was they who killed the 27-year-old woman, law enforcement officers say.
The baby is currently in hospital, and DNA testing has confirmed that she is the daughter of a recently murdered Ukrainian citizen, police said in a statement.
