France may increase its “degree of involvement” in the war in Ukraine, Dmitry Peskov predicts.
France is “involved in the war” in Ukraine, but may increase its involvement. Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov said this at a briefing on Friday, March 15.
“Yes, of course, we read Monsieur Macron’s statements. The fact that Russia is an enemy for France, yes, it is clear. Actually, since France has already been dragged into the war in Ukraine, it is not directly involved in this war. But also, judging by the statement Mr. President, will not object to increasing the level of his involvement,” Peskov told reporters on Friday.
The previous day, French President Emmanuel Macron commented in his statement about the possible deployment of troops in Ukraine. He did not rule out such a move, because Russia should not win the war.
Macron also advised Russian President Vladimir Putin not to make threats about nuclear weapons.
