The Israeli prime minister’s office noted that the new Gaza cease-fire proposal, released through mediators on March 14, is still based on “unrealistic demands.”
“An update on this matter will be presented to the War Cabinet and the Expanded Security Cabinet on Friday,” it said.
The publication states that the Palestinian movement has drawn up a comprehensive vision for the ceasefire agreement, which is based on ending “Israel’s aggression” against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, providing aid, returning displaced Palestinians at home and withdrawal of the Israeli Defense Forces from the region.
It is also reported that the proposal of Hamas refers to the exchange of prisoners and hostages, but there is no detailed information about the content of this clause.
Israeli media reported last night that Tel Aviv remained “cautiously optimistic” about the deal.
Earlier, Netanyahu presented a plan for a post-war settlement in Gaza.
