This is due to the fake “Russian presidential elections” that the aggressor wants to hold at the TOT. In Lugansk, 2,600 local officials were forced to visit houses and convince residents to “vote.” The UK Ministry of Defense announced this on Twitter on March 13.
The invaders ordered educational institutions and other arboreal institutions to ensure the turnout of their subordinates for the illegal elections. However, due to Russian aggression and mass displacement, only a third of the population remained in cities in the occupied territories.
The British emphasize that the aggressor country has no legal grounds for holding “elections” on Ukrainian territory. Moreover, the credibility of this senseless exercise is further undermined by the lack of proper representation, poor security and coercion aimed at forcing citizens to vote.
It is very likely that the occupation authorities in these territories will announce high turnout and overwhelming support for Putin, regardless of what actually happens in the elections, to create the impression that a democratic choice has been made, British intelligence suggests.
Let us recall that on March 10, the Center for National Resistance reported that Russian invaders began studying the pages of TOT residents on social networks on the eve of the so-called presidential elections in Russia. With such actions, Russians want to prevent disinformation before the elections and silence all dissenters.
