The planning of the French leader’s visit is not related to security concerns, the Elysee Palace said.
French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Ukraine has been postponed because he wants to bring “tangible results” to Kyiv. Politico reported this, citing a source in diplomatic circles on Monday, March 11.
A representative of the Elysee Palace stressed that the planning of the French leader’s visit was not related to security considerations, and there were no “concerns” about them.
At the same time, the diplomat, who spoke to reporters on the condition of anonymity, explained that Macron wants to “take the necessary time” for discussions with allies to visit Ukraine “with visible results.”
“It takes some time to (finish. – red.) different coalitions and their operational commitments to our partners,” he said.
It was previously known that Emmanuel Macron has postponed his visit to Ukraine three times. This is set to happen in the coming weeks.
We remind you that on March 10, President Vladimir Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Macron. The heads of state, among other things, discussed their upcoming meeting in Ukraine.
