As part of the modernization of its armed forces, Lithuania will buy Renault D military trucks. Some of them will be transferred to Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania.
It was noted that the Defense Resources Agency under the Ministry of National Defense is buying trucks from French manufacturer Renault Truck SAS. The contract for the purchase of the car is worth about $16 million.
The trucks will be used to supply and train the Lithuanian army. Some of the purchased equipment will be transferred to Ukraine as one of the components of the Lithuanian-led demining coalition.
The Renault D all-wheel drive 5-ton truck is designed for transporting a variety of cargo and equipment. The contract for the purchase of the trucks is worth about $16 million.
