Macron supported the initiative to attract non-European countries to meet Ukraine’s ammunition needs.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced the country’s participation in the Czech initiative to buy ammunition for Ukraine and asked for funding for the project. He said this at a joint press conference with Czech leader Petr Pavel in Prague on Tuesday, March 5.
Macron supported the initiative to attract the production capacity of non-European countries to meet Ukraine’s needs for ammunition.
The French leader noted that production in Europe has increased, but Ukraine’s needs are at such a level that it is worth looking into the future. According to him, it is worth looking for the remaining capacity in third, non-European countries to meet Ukraine’s short-term need for ammunition.
“We will contact third, non-European countries with a request to provide resources to meet Ukraine’s short-term needs for ammunition. This is the meaning of this initiative,” explained the French leader.
Let’s remember that earlier in the Czech Republic they announced the ammunition for Ukraine. It has been reported that Germany will participate in the purchase of artillery ammunition as part of an initiative by Czech President Petr Pavel.
