On March 5, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate UAH 9.3 billion for restoration. This money will go to 13 regions: Kyiv, Rivne, Zhitomir, Cherkassy, Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Odessa and Kherson. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced this on Telegram.
These funds should be used to repair residential buildings, schools, hospitals and critical infrastructure.
The head of government also announced intensive work with allies to create a large credit line for the restoration of Ukraine and integration from the European Union for 5 years at 0%. These are funds for construction, repairs, logistics, education, etc.
In particular, today the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decree that will open the possibility of receiving a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of $1.5 billion. Shmigal emphasized that this money will help the authorities support domestic business, increase exports and ensure macro-financial stability.
The government also approved a resolution defining the terms of the loan from Canada. This is an additional 2 billion Canadian dollars that Kyiv will be able to receive in 2024.
Let us recall that on February 15, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal stated that Ukraine already needs almost $486 billion. to recover from Russian shelling. In particular, in the residential sector, 10% of the total housing stock was destroyed or damaged due to enemy actions. It is also necessary to restore the agricultural and environmental sectors.
