The volume of gas transit to Moldova in the first days of March varied in the range of 3.4-3.6 million cubic meters per day.
Moldova has started importing natural gas from Europe through Ukraine. Gas is supplied to Moldova from Hungary in transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system without using short-haul service or pumping gas to Ukrainian storage facilities. The industry publication ExPro writes about this with reference to data from the Ukrainian GTS Operator.
It was noted that the volume of gas transit to Moldova in the first days of March fluctuated in the range of 3.4-3.6 million cubic meters per day.
Moldova also receives about 5.7 million cubic meters of natural gas per day from Russia, which also arrives via Ukraine. Russian gas mainly goes to the Pridnestrovian thermal power plant to produce electricity.
Moldova receives about 0.4-0.5 million cubic meters of gas per day from the “customs warehouse” of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
Under what conditions Moldova receives natural gas from Europe is still unknown. Moldovan state-owned company Energocom may buy natural gas on European markets amid falling gas prices. Moldova may also receive gas purchased as part of the EU’s joint purchases.
We remind you that Moldova and Greece will start cooperating in the field of gas supplies.
Earlier it was reported that Moldova will no longer buy Russian gas, because European prices are lower than Gazprom.
