ABC News reported this, adding that 21-year-old Teixeira previously denied his guilt.
He entered into a plea agreement and pleaded guilty to all six counts of knowingly storing and transmitting national defense information. In exchange, prosecutors agreed not to charge him with additional charges under the Espionage Act, which carries harsher penalties.
Jack Teixeira served on a US military base as a “cyber transport systems specialist.” He shared intelligence about the war in Ukraine in a Discord chat and leaked the Pentagon Papers to an audience of 20-30 people. He was arrested in April 2023 and subsequently charged with six counts.
