The press service of the SBU and the Dnepropetrovsk regional prosecutor’s office reported this today, March 4.
To carry out hostile tasks, the traitor drove around the area in his own car and secretly recorded Ukrainian objects, the SBU notes. — He maintained communication with the occupiers because of the popular messenger.
It is noted that the defendant, first of all, tried to identify the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ radar systems.
The infidels needed this information in order to try to “bypass” the Ukrainian air defense during new air strikes, the SBU notes. “Also, if the exact coordinates were obtained, the invaders planned to carry out targeted missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian radar stations.
Another task of the agent was to track down the main routes along which tank trucks with fuel moved towards the front line. He transmitted information about the routes of movement of military tankers, indicating the exact coordinates, in text messages.
The suspect also secretly filmed a military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the district TCC and SP of the city. He sent the video materials to the Russian curator via the Telegram messenger along with notes on Google Maps screenshots.
SBU employees exposed the enemy henchman at the initial stage of his intelligence activity, the intelligence service notes. “This made it possible to document criminal actions step by step and detain the agent.
The Russian curator of the attacker was also identified – this is a career employee of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the game):
- he remotely recruited a resident of Dnieper in December 2023;
- The man came to the attention of the aggressor as an ideological supporter of rashism, who expressed his own anti-Ukrainian messages in the Telegram channels of pro-Kremlin bloggers.
During searches, computer equipment and a mobile phone with evidence of his correspondence with a Russian game were found in the detainee’s premises. The husband was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law).
The attacker is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
