China’s Special Representative for Eurasia Li Hui arrived in Moscow and met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, where he discussed the issues of the war against Ukraine, according to the report of the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that the meeting participants had “a very active and thorough exchange of views on the topic of the crisis in Ukraine.”
“It is emphasized that any discussion of a political and diplomatic agreement is impossible without the participation of Russia and taking into account its interests in the field of security,” the statement said.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the meeting did not mention Moscow’s mandatory participation in discussing the end of the war.
“Instead, Li Hui’s words are quoted in historical experience, which shows that any conflict must ultimately be resolved through negotiation. The more intense the conflict, the less we should give up efforts for dialogue. ,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The special envoy also stressed China’s readiness to “continue efforts to promote peace negotiations, mediate between Russia, Ukraine and other relevant parties, and promote a political resolution to the crisis in Ukraine.”
It was previously reported that China’s special representative Li Hui will visit Russia, Ukraine and the European Union.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China is sending its special representative to Ukraine, Russia and European Union countries “to prepare for peace negotiations.”
