Police have identified two young men involved in attacks on elderly people in Ivano-Frankivsk, the press service of the National Police in the Ivano-Frankivsk region reports.
Law enforcement also published a video confession of one of the detainees. The young man said that neither he nor his acquaintances, with whom he attacked passers-by, belonged to any youth movement or organization.
“Me and my friends depicted in the video have nothing to do with political parties, religious or social movements. We friends decided to “hype” on the Internet. We don’t want to cause any harm to people and all the blows to us were almost imitated,” said the detainee.
The police added that the father of the suspected hooligan is an active military member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a volunteer.
Police are also seeking the location of the second accused and the identity of the third. One of the victims has confirmed to the police the facts stated in the video. The identity of the other victim is now known.
The procedure for managing criminal proceedings is carried out by the district prosecutor’s office of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk.
As reported, in Ivano-Frankivsk, youths beat passers-by. Hooligans attack victims with spray cans and kick them. They take it all and post it online.
