Germany can become a center for helping the wounded and injured from other countries, they believe in Berlin.
The German health care system should be more adaptable to “military conflicts”. This was announced by the head of the German Ministry of Health, Karl Lauterbach, on Saturday, March 2, Tagesschau reports.
He noted that the war against Ukraine continues, and that Russia’s rhetoric is becoming sharper.
“Because of this, Germany must not only be better prepared for future pandemics, but also for major disasters and possible military conflicts,” Lauterbach said.
He announced a corresponding bill for the summer.
“It would be foolish to say that we are not preparing for military conflict and then it will not come,” Lauterbach said.
According to him, in the event of a war, Germany can be a center for providing aid to the wounded and wounded from other countries.
“After Russia’s criminal attack on Ukraine, this challenge, unfortunately, has become more important,” added the head of the Ministry of Health.
It should be noted that on Monday, February 26, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, said that some NATO and EU member countries are discussing the possibility of sending their military to Ukraine after concluding bilateral agreements. He hastened to declare that Slovakia “will not take such a step,” but will respect the decisions of NATO countries that agree to send troops to Ukraine.
Later, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the possibility of sending military personnel to Ukraine, and French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal also did not rule out the possibility of sending French military personnel to Ukraine.
