A group of “bandits” appears to be planning to commit “resounding crimes of a terrorist nature,” Russian security officials said.
On Saturday night, shooting broke out in the Ingush town of Karabulak. Russian security forces are fighting a group of “militants,” the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation reported on March 2.
“In Ingushetia, during the security agencies conducting operation search activities in one of the residential buildings in the city of Karabulak, a group of bandits hiding the intention to commit high-profile terrorist acts crime was discovered and blocked by special forces of the FSB,” the report said.
It is said that during the attempt to detain the “militants,” they opened fire on the “law enforcement forces.”
The NAC announced that to ensure the safety of citizens in the area where “terrorists” have been identified, a counter-terrorism (CTO) regime has been introduced. The population was evacuated.
“The situation is under control by the NAC operational headquarters,” the security forces assured.
Let’s recall that last spring three major military clashes took place in the Republic of Ingushetia. Then Russian security forces were killed and wounded. An anti-terrorist operation regime is in effect in the region.
