On the night of March 2, the Russian military launched eight suicide bombers from the Black Sea over Odessa and the region. Of these, seven were shot down by air defense forces, but one drone, during maneuvers in residential areas, hit a nine-story building in Odessa. The Defense Forces (DF) of southern Ukraine reported this on their Telegram channel on Saturday, March 2.
Air defense units “thoroughly repelled this attack” in the Odessa region within an hour.
As a result of one of the drones hitting a residential building, part of the entrance to 18 apartments was destroyed.
Currently, one person is dead and seven are injured. Among the latter were a pregnant woman and a small child.
A search and rescue operation is now underway. According to preliminary data, there may be people under the rubble.
It was previously reported to have hit residential high-rise buildings in Odessa. The victim was subsequently reported.
