The corresponding video was published by the press service of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade.
The airstrike was carried out by combat aircraft of the air force, and confirmation of the destruction of the enemy point was monitored by the aerial reconnaissance unit of the 38th separate marine brigade. The point was destroyed by a JDAM-ER aircraft gliding bomb.
It should be noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine quite successfully use aerial bombs of this type, since they allow them to be dropped without entering the affected area of the enemy’s army air defense.
Militarny writes that the United States is transferring the high-precision JDAM-ER kit for installation on the 227-kilogram Mk.82 free-fall bombs.
Since these munitions are not integrated into the aircraft’s weapon system, they can be used from all carriers capable of carrying 227 kg aerial bombs on a specially designed aircraft launcher.
Equipped with the JDAM-ER kit, the Mark 82 aerial bomb is capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 72 km with a maximum deviation from the target of up to 11 m.
To accurately hit the target, the kit uses two main guidance methods: an inertial system and GPS correction.
It should be noted that the inertial system can act as the main bomb guidance system (when using an aircraft with an integrated communication system) after a drop if the enemy is using a powerful electronic warfare system and the tail GPS antenna cannot receive a connection.
It should be noted that this method of guidance increases its circular probable deviation, which will be 13 m after 38 seconds of flight.
