Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, by secret order, introduced the positions of political instructors in government institutions to “strengthen the patriotism” of officials, according to the Russian publication Meduza.
The position of “deputy head for social and political work” should be introduced in all federal government agencies. According to the publication, the decree marked “for official use” was signed in February 2023.
The search for people to fill the positions of political commissars will be done within the government agencies themselves, but the candidacy must be approved by the presidential administration.
