Russia’s war against Ukraine began 10 years ago with the occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea. However, the state did not agree to recognize the aggressor’s right to Crimean land, and the resistance of the Crimeans does not subside for a minute. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense stated this in a video message on the eve of the Day of Crimean Resistance to Russian Occupation.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that the assigned tasks were completed: Russia lost a quarter of its ships and was forced to withdraw its fleet to the Caucasus coast and redeploy aircraft, because the airfields and military installations of Crimea are constantly under the fire influence of the Defense Forces.
For our successes, we are grateful to the residents of Ukrainian Crimea, who not only strengthened resistance to the occupiers, but also found the opportunity to monitor the entire operational situation on the peninsula and transmit this information to us as quickly as possible. New surprises await the enemies, and I would not recommend the civilian population to use the so-called Crimean Bridge, Budanov noted.
Let us recall that in November 2023, Ukrainian intelligence published an intriguing video filmed near the Crimean Bridge and stated that this object built by the occupiers was “a completely unnecessary structure.”
