On February 23, Canada introduced new sanctions against Russia. Some defense factories, a port and an aide to dictator Vladimir Putin are subject to restrictions. This was reported by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is known that the country is implementing additional sanctions against 10 individuals and 153 legal entities. These sanctions focus on industries that affect the Russian government’s ability to continue its illegal and unjust invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions are also aimed at individuals and legal entities that support the Russian army through finance, logistics and sanctions evasion. Among the individuals listed is an assistant of Vladimir Putin, as well as senior officials of private and public companies registered in Russia and Cyprus.
Most of the sanctioned enterprises are reportedly part of the Russian military-industrial complex, providing research and development, production, repair and other products and services to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The list of sanctions includes: General Director of Voentorg Vladimir Pavlov; Putin aide Igor Levitin; Sergei and Nikolai Sarkisov are brothers.
In defense enterprises, Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems is subject to restrictions; Ilyushin Aviation Complex; AlfaStrakhovanie; port of Novorossiysk; Voentorg; Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation; Vympel Corporation; Russian Helicopter System; Red Banner plant; Yaroslavl Shipyard; JSC Tula Cartridge Plant; Almaz-Antey.
We remind you that the EU authorities adopted the 13th package of sanctions against the aggressor country, Russia. The restrictions apply to another 106 individuals and 88 legal entities responsible for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
It has also been reported that the United States has initiated a large-scale package of sanctions against Russia for its aggressive war in Ukraine.
