President Vladimir Zelensky registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the transfer of conscripts to the reserve after the expiration of their military service during martial law. This was confirmed by data on the parliament’s website on Thursday, February 22.
In particular, a draft law on amendments to Chapter XII of the Final Provisions of the Law of Ukraine on Military Duty and Military Service and the rules of compulsory military service No. 11035 have been registered.
The draft law proposes to normalize, during the period of martial law in Ukraine, the possibility of transfer to the reserve military personnel who have served the established terms of compulsory military service.
The head of state referred to this bill as urgent. It has been submitted for consideration to the relevant parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence.
We remind you that on February 7, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a bill on strengthening mobilization in Ukraine. This decision was supported by 243 representatives of the people.
In this regard, President Zelensky said that the mobilization in Ukraine is primarily a matter of justice. It would be unfair to bypass those defenders who have been at the front since the beginning of a massive war and need a break.
