The President of the Russian Federation called on LGBT representatives “not to touch children” because Russia is guided by traditional values.
In Russia, people with non-traditional sexual orientation seem to be tolerant and do not experience any restrictions. Such a cynical statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, February 20.
“We are very tolerant of people of non-traditional sexual orientation. We just don’t keep it and don’t think it’s right to hide it. Let everyone live as adults, as they want. Nobody limits the them in anything,” he said at the plenary meeting of the forum Strong ideas for new times.
Putin added that Russia is guided by traditional values. At the same time, he called on LGBT representatives to “not touch the children.”
Let’s recall that in November 2023, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the LGBT movement as “extremist” and banned its activities in the country.
And in December 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a law banning LGBT propaganda. The document introduces administrative responsibility for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia and gender reassignment among children and adults.”
It was also reported that the Russian Ministry of Health is planning to engage in “treatment” of people “suffering from mental illnesses related to sexual development and orientation.” In particular, there will be offices of sexologists in psychoneurological dispensaries and clinics that will deal with this issue.
