In Volyn, a group of smugglers was exposed moving cigarettes across the border by drone. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine on Tuesday, February 20.
It was reported that a resident of the region organized a criminal group and attracted accomplices with various functional responsibilities.
“Some of the defendants assembled and serviced the drones, others chose safe places to launch them and ensured the delivery of cigarette blocks. The cost of one UAV is $6,000. In one flight, the drone was supposed to carry 25 blocks of counterfeit cigarettes abroad, drop them off and return. One” flight “lasted about 45 minutes,” the report said.
