The Netherlands has begun transferring drones to Ukraine

The Netherlands, which joined the drone coalition less than a week ago, has already begun transferring UAVs to Ukraine. This was announced by Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren in an interview with Delfi, published on Monday, February 19.

“I can’t say the exact number, but we are already transferring drones to Ukraine. The drone coalition is very important because now we will join forces, which means we will be able to increase drones according to the needs of Ukraine,” said Ollongren.

He also recalled that the Netherlands is actively participating in the air defense coalition for Ukraine.

“For example, with the Patriot systems, and also with the F-16, which is also in the process. So it makes sense to participate in this kind of coalition. And I think, like the drones, we have to be precise. determine if what is needed in Ukraine,” said the minister.

In addition, Ollongren confirmed that the training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 continues.

“We are also preparing the aircraft for the actual transfer. We announced that we will transfer 24 F-16 aircraft with Denmark and Norway soon. But everything should be ready. I am confident that this year we will be able to start their transition,” he said. head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
