The head of state noted that agreements on security guarantees have now been concluded with Germany, France and Britain, and the United States will follow.
Ukraine has entered into agreements with several Western European countries on security guarantees. We are talking about Britain, Germany and France. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this following his participation in the Munich Security Conference in a telethon. Something new.
“There are three agreements. Today we had talks with several more countries, there is an agreement on security agreements. We have even defined some nuances where there are questions or disagreements. Several more agreements agreed upon. We will increase these security guarantees,” said the head of state.
Zelensky noted that the Ukrainian and American teams are already working on an agreement between Ukraine and the United States and added that these agreements will not be an alternative to the US aid package.
However, the head of the country said that the agreement with the United States is a very important, additional help that Ukrainians can count on, not in a year or two, but for 10 years.
At the same time, he added that the ten-year term of the agreements on security guarantees does not mean that this is how long the war will last.
“No, it means that we are with these countries, these are security guarantees if aggression returns even after the war is over. Not only weapons, there is also reconstruction, etc. Therefore, it is very important that we have such long-awaited and long-term security guarantees with partners,” Zelensky emphasized.
Let’s recall that the head of state previously announced that the Ukrainian delegation, as part of a trip to the Munich Security Conference, agreed with several countries on new military aid packages.
