Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba that the PRC is not transferring lethal weapons to Russia. This is what the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
“No matter how the international situation changes, China hopes that Sino-Ukrainian relations will develop normally and continue to benefit the two peoples,” the department said in a statement.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed in Kuleba Beijing the “principled position” on the “Ukrainian issue” (as the PRC calls the Russian war against Ukraine). He also insisted that he would promote peace and negotiations and not “throw wood on the fire.”
“China does not seize opportunities or sell deadly weapons to conflict areas or conflict parties. We will continue to play a constructive role in ending the war and restoring peace as soon as possible. Even though there is only a glimmer of hope for peace, China will not give up its efforts,” they assured the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
As already written, Ukraine invited Chinese leader Xi Jinping to the Peace Summit in Switzerland according to the previously proposed Peace Formula.
Let’s add that a representative of China was not among the participants in the fourth meeting of national security advisers on the Peace Formula on January 14 in Davos. The media also reported that Chinese Prime Minister Li Qian decided not to interfere with President Vladimir Zelensky at the forum in Davos.
