Navalny’s body has disappeared in Russia

The body of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who recently died in a colony, cannot be found.

Navalny’s representative Kira Yarmysh reported this on her page on the social network X.

According to her, the leadership of correctional colony No. 3 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where Navalny was held before his death, claimed that his body was in the morgue of the city of Salekhard. However, when Navalny’s mother arrived there, she was told that there was no body.

The Russian publication ASTRA contacted the forensic medical examination bureau in Salekhard. There the publication was told that “they did not accept any bodies from the colonies.”

Earlier, Yarmysh said that the official message issued to Navalny’s mother indicated that his death occurred on February 16 at 14:17 local time. According to her, the colony claimed that employees of the Russian Investigative Committee took Navalny’s body to Salekhard to conduct research on him.
