Ukraine is capable of winning the war against Russia, but its actions are limited by the range and sufficiency of weapons. The situation in Avdeevka confirms this. At the same time, leaving the city was a logical and professional decision for the sake of the lives of the military.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this today, February 17, during a speech at the Munich Security Conference.
A completely logical, fair and professional decision to save our people. This is the most important task for us,” Zelensky emphasized. – We take care of our people, our warriors – because this is protection. Weapons from our partners help restore peace on our territory, but, above all, the military protects people. Therefore, in order not to fall into the retinue, it was decided to retreat to other lines.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine’s actions in the war are limited by the range and sufficiency of weapons.
Ukraine can win. Our actions are limited only by the range and sufficiency of weapons. But this depends not only on us. And the situation in Avdiivka confirms this, Zelensky emphasized.
Unfortunately, keeping Ukraine in an artificial shortage of weapons, in particular, a shortage of artillery and long-range weapons, allows Putin to adapt to the intensity of hostilities, he added.
Zelensky noted that the enemy had attacked Avdiivka with all its weapons and might since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of thousands of occupiers.
I can’t tell you our losses. But in Avdiivka, I can tell you that there was one to seven – for one Ukrainian there are seven Russians,” Zelensky noted.
According to Zelensky, leaving Avdiivka does not mean that Russia has seized something. During two years of war, the terrorist country only destroyed small villages, towns and the lives of Ukrainians.
Depletion of their army, I believe that our military constantly performs this task. Reconstruction will continue, we will wait for weapons, which are in short supply,” he emphasized. – No long-range weapons. Russia has it, but we have little of it. We count on the support of our partners.
