As for the situation on the battlefield, Budanov called it difficult, but not critical, and did not consider Russia’s war against Ukraine to be unique.
Both Ukraine and Russia actively use drones, but UAVs will not bring a decisive advantage to either side in the war. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanova, said this in an interview with the French publication Liberation.
“UAVs have been used in full capacity by both sides for several years now. But so far, drones have not brought a definite advantage to either side, and it will never happen. And why? Because, like of the Middle Ages, up to a A person leaves on foot to put a flag in an enemy trench, you can launch a million drones over it, and no one will return it,” Budanov explained.
He was convinced that no miracle technology could help radically change the course of a long war; other factors are more important.
“The question is how to distribute resources, how to use what is available, and how to plan supply lines. In a long war, the side with the stronger economy and logistics wins,” the leader of Ukrainian intelligence emphasized.
As for the situation on the battlefield, Budanov called it difficult, but not critical, and did not consider Russia’s war against Ukraine to be unique.
“Our war is not unique. It is simply a high-intensity conflict using the full range of available weapons. We are not on the verge of using weapons of mass destruction, but everything else – from submarines to in strategic flight – was used for a long time,” said Budanov.
Let’s recall that earlier Budanov predicted that a new counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces could begin in the spring – immediately after the offensive of the Russian troops had completely exhausted itself.
