The official White House account on the social network X on Wednesday, February 14, was published message with a sarcastic Valentine’s Day message from House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Johnson’s greeting from the White House plays on the love poem Roses Are Red, well known in the English-speaking world, which has become a cliché for Valentine’s Day and spawned many humorous and parodic variations.
In Ukrainian, the greeting can be translated as:
Let’s remember that in early February, Johnson said he would “bury” the $118 billion border security bill, which, in particular, provided aid for Ukraine and Israel.
And on February 14, he said that the House of Representatives under his leadership would not be forced to pass a foreign aid bill without measures to protect the US border.
