The US Senate supported in a final vote a bill that provides aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan to the tune of $95 billion, 60 of which goes to Kyiv.
US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson said he does not intend to introduce a Senate-backed bill containing aid to Ukraine. American journalist Jake Sherman reported this on Tuesday, February 13, on social media. X (Twitter) with reference to Johnson’s own words.
Sherman said he asked Johnson if he would bring the Senate bill to the House floor.
“Definitely not right now. We are dealing with the appropriations process. We have immediate deadlines and that is what the House of Representatives is focusing on right now,” the journalist quotes the speaker as saying.
Earlier it was reported that the Democrats hoped to “corner” the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, which would allow them to vote for a draft aid law for Ukraine.
We remind you that President Biden addressed the US Congress and said: Ukrainian troops are running out of ammunition on the front lines, while Russian troops continue to advance, so the US House of Representatives must to immediately approve a bill to help Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan totaling 95 billion dollars.
