The protesters say their action is aimed at “ensuring food security in the country.”
Polish farmers will block all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine and access roads to railway transshipment stations and ports on February 20. This is what the union of individual farmers said unityPolish radio RMF FM reported on Tuesday, February 13.
“Therefore, on February 20, as part of the 30-day general strike of farmers, we announce that all protest activities are focused on a complete blockade of all Polish border crossings with Ukraine and field protests ,” the union said.
The protesters called on the public to “support” their action and assured that their action was aimed at ensuring food security in the country.
Peasant protests continue not only in Poland, but throughout Europe. Manufacturers are particularly opposed to EU rules related to the European Green Deal.
Please note that February 9 unity announced a 30-day general strike by farmers. They reported that they were protesting against the uncontrolled flow of goods from Ukraine to Poland due to EU decisions.
They say the lack of regulation calls into question the profitability of agricultural production, processing and other agriculture-related industries.
Let us remind you that the Polish Minister of Agriculture Czeslaw Sekierski asked on behalf of farmers for an apology for Ukrainian grain spilled from trucks. At the same time, the Polish official said that the farmers were allegedly “understandable,” and “the reaction of Ukraine was excessive.”
