In Ecuador, Black Hawk will fight against terrorist organizations in the country.
The United States plans to transfer Sikorsky UH-604/L Black Hawk helicopters to Ecuador in exchange for transferring Soviet and Russian Mi-17s to Ukraine. This was reported by Infodefense.
“The transfer of these aircraft will take place after the Ecuadorian army transferred the Russian Mi-171 and 17-1B helicopters, which currently have little operational readiness due to problems with maintenance and obtaining spare parts,” said the statement.
The Ecuadorian military will reportedly become the sixth Black Hawk operator in Latin America, following Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Chile. Black Hawk will participate in the fight against terrorist organizations in the country.
Let’s recall that in December of last year, President Vladimir Zelensky in Argentina held meetings with the leaders of Paraguay, Uruguay and Ecuador.
