Tsutskiridze noted that when choosing the conditions for serving such a sentence, the court is guided by the fact that the draft dodger is a potential military member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Deputy Chairman of the National Police Maxim Tsutskiridze said the men who received suspended sentences would be subject to mobilization to Ukraine. Censor.net reported it.
According to Tsutskiridze, when choosing the conditions for serving such a sentence, the court is guided by the fact that the draft dodger is a potential military member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I think, when making such a decision, the court is guided by the fact that this is a potential military member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the future. And it makes a decision in such a way that he still has a chance to serve,” said the deputy head of the National Police.
He added that the existence of a pre-trial investigation, even suspicion, is not a reason not to serve.
“Here we have to see what preventive measure will be chosen during the investigation, whether it will restrict the movement of a person. We have a case where, at the request of our international colleagues, we have identified the people against whom the investigative actions are being conducted in one of the Baltic countries,” said Tsutskiridze.
According to him, a few years ago a kidnapping and murder took place there; the defendants in this case are Ukrainians.
“So one of them, as established, was on the front line. He testified and confirmed that two other people who gave their lives fighting for our country were involved in this crime. When he publicly confirmed our findings to us, we handed him a suspicion, but did not choose the preventive measure,” said the Deputy Chairman of the National Police.
We remind you that on February 7, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a bill on strengthening mobilization in Ukraine.
It was also reported that martial law and mobilization in Ukraine will remain in force for another 90 days – at least until May 13, 2024.
