The German Chancellor noted the importance of joint efforts to ensure security within NATO.
Berlin is ready to defend every inch of NATO. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this on Monday, February 12, in reaction to a statement by US ex-President Donald Trump, who said he would “encourage Russia” to attack NATO countries that do not invest enough in the Alliance’s defense, Ukrinform reports.
“NATO’s protection commitment applies unconditionally. All for one. One for all,” he said.
He emphasized that this project of democratic countries, designed for decades, is “very efficient and effective.” He also called any relativization of NATO aid guaranteed irresponsible and dangerous, playing into the hands of the aggressor country.
“No one can play with or trade with European security,” warned the head of the German government.
He also emphasized that Germany and Poland are “one of the countries that support Ukraine the most.”
“And in the future we want to cooperate more closely, especially considering the recovery and necessary reforms in Ukraine,” he said.
Former President Donald Trump said that during his leadership in the United States he threatened NATO countries that he would incite Russia to attack them if they did not help the alliance.
