A drone with more than 22 kilograms of drugs worth 13 million hryvnias landed in Volyn. This was reported by the press center of the State Border Service of Ukraine on Sunday, February 11.
“Around one of the border settlements of the Kovel region, border guards and SBU officers shot down a copter with two packages containing 22.5 kg of hashish,” the border guards said.
The attackers turned out to be three residents of Volyn. To smuggle drugs, they tie wrapped briquettes with narcotic substances to the drone. The copter got there thanks to the anti-drone gun.
The defendants were searched, during which drones and other material evidence were discovered. Law enforcement seized a drone and a narcotic drug, as well as three vehicles used by the smugglers to carry out the illegal transaction.
People are informed of the suspicion. The court opted for a preventive measure in the form of detention for all three suspects. The perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison.
We remind you that the SBU, together with the National Police, has eliminated the international channel for the sale of hard drugs and psychotropics in the countries of the European Union. Five ecstasy laboratories were liquidated in Kyiv region.
