President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Sergei Naev from the post of commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appointing Yuriy Sodol to this position.

This is stated in Decrees No. 70/2024 and No. 71/2024, published today, February 11, on the website of the Office of the President.
Nayev has been Commander of the Joint Forces since March 27, 2020.
Sodol studied at the Sumy Higher Artillery Command School from 1988 to 1992.
Since 2003 he served in the airborne forces. In 2007, he was appointed commander of the 25th Airborne Brigade. Since 2014, he has participated in repelling Russian armed aggression in eastern Ukraine.
In 2015, he became the first deputy commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and in March 2018, the commander of the Marine Corps. In December 2018, he received the rank of lieutenant general.
