There, strikers plan to partially block truck traffic from February 12. Car traffic is promised to continue.
Farmers announced the start of the blockade on February 9 at the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint. Truck traffic will be blocked by agricultural machinery. The protest will tentatively last until March 9.
The strikers plan to allow trucks weighing up to 7.5 tons to pass three trucks per hour in each direction.

Farmers complain that their costs for energy, fertilizer and transport have risen, especially due to Russia’s war against Ukraine. They are also not satisfied with the actions of their own governments, trying to contain the rise in food prices in an inflationary environment.
Recently, not giving in to protests, the European Commission announced that it would continue to suspend import duties on Ukrainian exports for another year until June 2025.
On Wednesday, February 7, negotiations were held at the country’s Ministry of Agriculture between the leadership of the ministry and representatives of the provincial chambers of agriculture, reports rmf24.
During negotiations at the Ministry of Agriculture, the President of the National Council of Chambers of Agriculture, Viktor Shmulevich, stated that all farmers agree with three main demands:
- do not want to implement the Green Deal;
- import of agricultural products from Ukraine;
- require livestock support.
According to the ministry, “negotiators stressed that the protest planned for this Friday aims to raise awareness among consumers about the problems faced by farmers. This is also a protest to protect them, to protect healthy Polish food.”
