The investigation believes that he financed the Russian National Guard in Crimea, paying for paramilitary security for his elite real estate.
The Russians guarded the unfinished dispensary in Simeiz and the complex bordering Medvedchuk’s dacha. For this, the occupiers received hundreds of thousands of Russian rubles monthly. Now, on this suspicion, he faces up to three years in prison with confiscation of property.
Shufrich is already suspected of treason. While he is in jail.
The Security Service of Ukraine said that the land plot with an area of more than 1.5 hectares is included in the recreational zone.
This property was purchased from companies whose beneficial owner was Medvedchuk’s wife Oksana Marchenko.
The corresponding agreement was signed by a company where Shufrich’s personal lawyer is the executive director.
Subsequently, the defendants organized the signing of an agreement with the structures of the National Guard for the “protection” of the facility in Crimea, according to which hundreds of thousands of Russian rubles were transferred monthly to the accounts of the occupiers.
In addition, the company controlled by Shufrich regularly financed the Russian budget by paying taxes and fees. During searches in the offices of commercial structures affiliated with the people’s deputy and the premises of the defendants in Kyiv, documentation, seals and other material evidence of criminal activity were found.
