In 2023, the Office of the Prosecutor General opened more than 4 thousand 456 proceedings under the articles “high treason” and “collaboration activities”. About 30% of these cases went to trial.

The Movement HONESTLY received such data in response to requests to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The most cases under the article “high treason” were opened in March last year – 147. In total, from January to December 2023, 1,205 cases were opened, of which 328 were brought to court.
The largest number of cases related to collaboration activities were initiated in January—455. A total of 3,251 cases were opened, and 984 were brought to court.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the downward trend in the number of open cases continued. The dynamics of production closures has also increased: from 1-2 at the beginning of the year to 10 monthly at the end of the year. However, the number of cases brought to court has increased. If during the period from January to September 2023, 24% of cases of treason and collaboration were brought to court, then at the end of the year the figure increased to 30%.
The HONEST movement has not received data on the number of court verdicts in these cases. According to the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, statistical data will be available after February 10, 2024.
The HONEST movement has been maintained by the Register of Traitors since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. We not only record data on individuals to preserve political memory, but also monitor the progress of criminal proceedings. Must be held accountable. We see that the rate of cases being referred to the courts is increasing. At the end of 2023, Nestor Shufrich and Alexander Dubinsky received suspicions. So far there have been very few court sentences,” notes Vita Dumanskaya, leader of the HONEST Movement.
Earlier, the HONEST Movement reported that in 2022, the Office of the Prosecutor General opened more than 6 thousand proceedings under the articles “high treason” and “collaboration activities.” Judges reviewed 37% of cases. At the same time, only 62 cases out of 618 were found guilty.
