The country’s state security service said that a cargo with six explosive devices was brought from Odessa through Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey to Georgia on January 19 this year in a minivan belonging to a Ukrainian citizen.
The explosive devices were planned to be transported to Voronezh (Russian Federation).
But, according to the Georgian special service, the customer later changed the decision: they tried to take one container with three explosive devices to Voronezh, and left the other in Tbilisi.
According to the State Security Service, seven Georgians, three Ukrainians and two Armenians were allegedly involved in the import of explosives. Everything was allegedly organized by a citizen of Ukraine, a candidate for local deputies of the Odessa region in 2020 from the Servant of the People party, Andrei Sharashidze, originally from Batumi.
Sharashidze, according to the Georgian intelligence service, actively monitored the movement of explosive devices, but the above-mentioned people probably did not know about the explosives and detonator capsules installed in the car’s batteries.
At the time of publication of the news, there was no reaction from Ukrainian officials.
