The Russian defense industry, in all probability, will not be able to fully supply the new reserves of equipment and weapons, despite the ability of the Russian Army to maintain the current pace of operations and efforts to expand the defense industry of Russia. According to ISW analysts, the Russian command has a tendency to wrongly view part of the reserve as a “bottomless barrel.” It is reported that the Russian industry is capable of producing about 250-300 “new and modern” tanks annually.

It was noted that even taking into account the higher estimates, the Russian defense industry is unlikely to be able to provide equipment for a larger mobilization of manpower, and it will probably need to increase its capabilities to support the large offensive operations, which will take a long time.

At the same time, ISW experts continue to believe that Russia will be able to expand its technical base and accumulate resources if it maintains the initiative in the entire theater of military operations until 2024, although it is unlikely to provide significant number of mobilized reservists. or conscripts.
