Ukraine has made progress in its naval operation, but on the ground the situation has reached a stalemate due to a lack of weapons.
The situation at the front is a dead end due to the delay in the supply of military equipment. President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with the Italian TV channel Rai1, which was broadcast on Sunday, February 4.
According to him, “as far as the war on the ground is concerned, there is a stalemate here, that’s a fact,” because “there were delays with equipment, and delays mean mistakes.”
“We are fighting terrorists with one of the largest armies in the world, there is not enough ammunition, we need modern technical means,” Zelensky stressed.
At the same time, he noted that the naval operation “brought positive results.”
“Russia has lost many ships, and in the Black Sea we have created a grain corridor, so the pragmatic part of this deal with an economic impact has been carried out positively,” the president emphasized.
He also said that the Russian army was incapable of making significant progress and was held back.
“For two years, it is important that we have managed to protect our state. About 26% of the country’s territory is still under occupation, but we see that the Russian army cannot advance much. We stopped them, Zelensky said.
Also in this interview, Zelensky did not rule out the resignation of Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny.
