Zelensky announced this today, February 4, in his evening video message.
Protection of energy facilities. Strengthening mobile fire groups, air defense, REB. Restoration of energy capacity. “I thank everyone who promptly restored power supply these days after the recent strikes – every repair team,” he noted.
The president’s website reports that Zelensky today also got acquainted with the construction of an experimental water supply project for Krivoy Rog and surrounding communities. In particular, he inspected the construction of the largest pumping station of the new main water pipeline “Ingulets – Krivoy Rog”, the length of which is 145 km.
Once launched, it will supply water to 1.5 million residents of the region who were left without access to water after the Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station dam. Residents of Marganets, Nikopol, Tomakovka, Pokrovsk, Maryanskoye and other nearby settlements will have a stable water supply, the message states.
In August 2023, the first line of the water pipeline was launched. In January of this year, a capsizing branch along the Dnieper – Krivoy Rog canal began operating.
As the president was informed, despite the shelling and unfavorable weather conditions, 95% of the work was completed. Construction continues around the clock. Now they are installing equipment for pumping stations, which are one of the most important elements of the main water supply system,” the report says.
