The reason for this was suspicion received on January 27. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this today, February 2.
By the decision of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov dated February 1, 2024, at the request of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrilyuk, the acting director of the Department of Military-Technical Policy, Development of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Toomas Nahkur was relieved of his duties, – stated in message.
The reason for the removal is the announcement of suspicion in criminal proceedings. The suspicion was handed over to Toomas Nahkur on January 27, 2024, the Ministry of Defense adds.
Let us recall that at the end of January the SBU reported on the exposure of a large-scale scheme of theft of public funds during the purchase of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
