The department emphasized that Ukraine seeks to achieve justice and responsibility for all of Russia’s illegal actions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the decision of the International Court of Justice in a lawsuit against Russia for violating conventions on terrorism and racial discrimination. This was reported on the website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The previous day, the International Court of Justice found that Russia had violated the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, the department noted.
“This is the first time in history that the International Court of Justice has made a final decision regarding Russia’s violations of international law,” the statement said.
The agency said the UN court’s decision “undoubted that the Russian Federation does not respect international law.”
“Ukraine remains committed to achieving justice and accountability for all of Russia’s illegal actions, including the full-scale aggression launched by Russia in 2022,” the Foreign Ministry concluded.
We remind you that the UN International Court of Justice has issued a decision in the case of Ukraine against Russia, which includes charges of financing terrorism.
As is known, Ukraine filed a lawsuit in January 2017. It is concerned with Russia’s violation of two international conventions: on the suppression of the financing of terrorism and on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination. The charges relate to episodes from 2015 to 2017.
